2015 in Review – Cheers to the New Year!

new year 2016

Hello friends! As we close the books on 2015 and look forward to the new year, I always like to pause and take a moment to reflect on the past year. This was a wonderful year for my family and me, filled with exciting new adventures, accomplishments, and most of all, love. And I’m so incredibly thankful for that. So here are 2015’s highlights for the Plotkin family.

Having a Baby!

This one simply cannot be topped. People say motherhood is hard, rewarding, challenging, amazing, tiring, and so much more. And it totally is! But I was prepared for that. I was not, however, prepared for the greatest love I’d ever know. The all-consuming, heart-is-going-to-explode, constantly-want-to-cry-from-happiness, my-whole-world-is-upside-down, what-did-I-ever-do-before-you kind of love. Having a child is, and always will be, my greatest accomplishment. Olivia is the light of our lives and we are so lucky to have her.

Buying a House

There is nothing like buying your first home as a family. Choosing a location, going to see houses, making an offer, and finally closing– buying a house can be stressful and exciting! But we are so fortunate to have found exactly what we were looking for (here’s the home tour). And now 2016 looks like it will be filled with a lot of home projects and decorating!

Becoming a Stay at Home Mom

This was not an easy decision to make, and I talked about it in this post, but I am loving my new role so far. Who knows if I’ll go back to work in the future, but right now the time I get to spend with my baby is priceless. Again, I realize that to have the choice to stay at home or work is a huge freedom in and of itself and I am grateful for that.

Starting a Blog!

I started this blog with this very first post and now, seven months later, I am having so much fun writing, being creative, and talking about things that I’m interested in. I especially love the comments, feedback, and overall support from all of you! But this is just the beginning. I’ve got a lot up my sleeve for 2016 and I can’t wait to share it with you all. Thank you for continuing to read my little slice of the internet.

New Year

We’ve definitely been busy this year and 2016 has some big shoes to fill, but we’re looking forward to whatever the new year brings. And whatever your plans are for NYE, I hope you spend it with the ones you love. So… pop some champagne and cheers to another 365 days filled with health, love, and happiness!

Happy New Year!

L
