College Nannies + Sitters for the Win!

Hey friends! Happy Friday + a big ol’ cheers to the weekend! Last month I talked about College Nannies + Sitters in this post and I promised a follow up post, so here it is!

First, let me say that on a scale of laidback mama to helicopter mama, I definitely lean more towards the helicopter side of things. In my case, the words mama bear mean ‘I will claw your f*ckin eyes out if you mess with my kids.’

I say this so that you know I am very particular (as I’m sure most moms are) about who I leave my kids with and if I had even the slightest inkling that something was off then I would cancel that babysitter immediately. And I am happy to say that I felt great about the babysitter from College Nannies + Sitters.

One of the best parts of College Nannies + Sitters is the ease of booking a sitter. Once you are enrolled with them, you download the College Nannies + Sitters app in the App Store and you are able to see all the different sitters and their availability up to more than two months in advance. Once you select a day, you are able to see every sitter that is available for that day and which times they are available. You can even click on the sitter and read a bio about them and their qualifications. Below is a screenshot of what the app looks like.

Our sitter, Jessie, arrived on time and was great about listening to the kids’ bedtime routines and asked questions about things that I had forgotten to write down (Do you rock your baby to sleep? Does he have a sound machine? Does your daughter sleep with a lovie, etc). She immediately started playing with Olivia while I finished getting ready.

We left the kids and I was a nervous wreck. I wasn’t nervous about Jessie, but I was nervous about how our kids would be with someone totally new? Would Olivia freak out and start crying at bedtime? Would Nathan take his bottle? Would we have to cut our date short to come home and face some kind of madness?

No, no, no, and no.

I texted Jessie asking how the kids went down and she said everything was great. Phew. I could relax. We had a great date and when we came home, Jessie had put away ALL the toys (even the ones that were already out before she came over) and washed all the dishes that were in the sink. And, per the College Nannies + Sitters policy, she left a detailed ‘sitter report’ about the kids and how the night went.

In fact, it went so well that we are using Jessie again this weekend and have already tried out another sitter too. I feel comfortable leaving my kids with the sitters from College Sitters + Nannies and feel comfortable recommending them to you.

XO,

L
