A Little Bit of Sunshine No. 20

August 30, 2019

Happy Friday, friends! Summer is coming to an end over here and I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, I love long, slow summer mornings with no commitments, but on the other hand, I am ready to be back in a routine and not be in full 24/7 entertaining mode. We’ll see how I feel about a routine come Tuesday when I’m trying to get Olivia dressed, make breakfast, and get out of the house on time. Also, why do kids have only one speed: S L O W W W W.

I’ve got a lot of fun things I want to share with you this week, from fashion finds to the mundane things car garbage cans that make this mama happy. 🙂

For Mama

  • Okay, first things first, these jeans were part of the Nordstrom sale and they’re currently on sale for EVEN LESS than I got them for during the sale. They have great stretch, the perfect distressing, and are high waisted (but not too high). RUN!
  • These wedge booties are another one of my Nordstrom sale purchases that are on sale again. I really like these because they are comfortable (a mom life must) and they look great with skinny jeans and a sweater.
  • Since I cut my hair a couple months ago I’ve had to get creative in styling my hair and these pretty bobby pin-like clips are so pretty!
  • And this car garbage can is how you know I’m adulting, like, so hard. It seriously gives me so much joy to not have a mess all over my car and it’s all because of this little gem.

For Mini

  • I’ve been doing a little back to school shopping for Olivia and this corduroy skirt and striped top make me wish it came in my size!
  • High Five is our new favorite book around here! It’s got super fun illustrations and it is an interactive book that your kids will LOVE.
  • We are still very much into stickers over here and I thought we owned every sticker book imaginable until I found this cute one. Olivia loves placing the stickers on to decorate cupcakes, donuts, and cakes.

For Baby (even though he is less and less of a baby)

  • Starting to get little man ready for the cooler temps with these adorable long sleeve tees.
  • We also love these “fresh whites” as my husband calls them. He’s been wearing them all spring and summer and I just got the next size up for him.
  • These Contigo tumblers are awesome and they come in “boy colors” and “girl colors” and we have both sets of 3. They are easy to clean and most importantly, LEAK PROOF.

On the agenda

With Olivia starting her last year of preschool next week, I dug up the questions that I asked her last year so that I can ask her again this year. It’s just a fun little tradition that I like to do with her so that we can look back over the years and laugh at the cute things she said. You can do this with your kids (assuming they’re not high schoolers who are just going to roll their eyes at you) and either keep the answers in your phone or get a cute blank book from Home Goods or TJMaxx and record them in there every year. So here are some of the questions I ask Olivia and you can always add your own in!

Q: What is your favorite place to go?

Q: What is your favorite movie?

Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?

Q: My favorite toy is…

Q: My favorite memory from the summer is…

Q: What are you REALLY good at?

Have a great weekend, friends!

XO,

L
