Twisty Tee | Denim | Booties: sold out (similar here and here)

Oh heyyyy, Friday! How you doin’? (If you didn’t read that in a Joey Tribianni voice from Friends then we can’t be friends.) We are coming off a 70 degree day yesterday and now waiting on snow this weekend and poor Olivia keeps asking “Is it spring yet?!” I feel the same way, kid. But while we wait for spring, let’s get down to business with the Sunshine Series!

What’s in my shopping cart this week…

For Mama…

  • I recently got the fuchsia dress for a wedding and got so many compliments on it. I loooove the color!
  • The blue dress is a perfect summer/spring dress and would pair perfectly with a cute denim jacket
  • I also bought that cute straw bag for the summer that I’ll use as my diaper bag.
  • I wore that pink tee yesterday and it’s a nice lightweight tee that comes in like 5 other colors.
  • And finally, I am obsessing over Target’s new Opalhouse line! These are just a couple things I’ve got my eye on.

For Mini…

  • My friend bought Olivia this rock painting kit for her birthday and it sounds like such a silly thing to do but Olivia LOVES it. We already ran out of rocks so now we’re painting random rocks my mom found for her. Haha!
  • This pretty purple peplum top is the latest addition to Liv’s closet. She likes anything peplum because she thinks they’re dresses. 🙂
  • I bought her this mini dry erase board and it’s the perfect thing to do in the car or on a plane!
  • And how cute are these headbands? Going to pick out a few colors for Liv!

For Baby…

  • I cannot wait to see Nathan in this adorable romper (is that what they’re called??)
  • These tiny baby shoes! #allthehearteyes I totally bought them for Nate and his tiny feet look so cute in them!
  • This is the monthly milestone blanket that I used in Nathan’s 4 Month Update.

What’s on the menu…

Lately, we have been into making homemade pizzas. I buy some pita bread/pizza crust and Olivia spreads the sauce on, puts on some pepperoni, and sprinkles the cheese and she loves it. This recipe  for honey chipotle chicken pizza is definitely more advanced than that but it looks soooo delish that I’m going to have to try it!

Things that make you go hmmm…

So I know that blog posts have been few and far between around here and I feel really bad about it. Sometimes I get down on myself that I haven’t been posting as much as I want to, but right now my priorities are as follows:

  1. Olivia + Nathan + Hubby
  2. Sleep
  3. Working out

I obviously spend the bulk of my day taking care of Olivia and Nathan– feeding them, playing with them, diaper changes, potty breaks, naps, repeat! By the end of the day, the last thing I want to do is blog and the first thing I want to do is crawl into bed and fall asleep. You know those people that get 5 hours of sleep and wake up and exercise and go to work and are functioning human beings? Yeah, I’m not one of them. Hubby is and I don’t know how he does it. I, on the other hand, need 8 straight hours of sleep, but Nathan keeps throwing a wrench in my 8 hours by waking up every night at 4am. And then when I do get a moment to myself, I usually spend it working out and taking a shower. Aside from sleep, those are the two things I need every day to feel good about myself.

Long story short, I’m sorry for being MIA and I hope you can be patient with me while I’m in this season of life. If I get one blog post out a week, I call that a win. If I get two then I’m finding some balance and 3 or more you know I’m winning at mom life. If you don’t hear from me in a week then send a babysitter and wine. 🙂

Have a great weekend!

XO,

L

I’d say 1x a month is winning at mom life 🙂 . Wait, scratch that. Showers (let alone working out) with a toddler & baby? You’re winning already. All you do already, is quite impressive. Xo

    My dear sweet Lauren,
Don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re doing what you are suppose to be doing. Taking care of your family. You’re a great Mommie to Olivia and Nathan, a wonderful loving wife to Eric and a fabulous daughter in-law to me. I love reading your posts whenever you get around to posting them. It’s my way of finding out what you’ve been up to over there in between our talks. I love you XOXO
