Letter to my THREE Year Old

letter to my three year old

Me: Sweater | Denim | Boots    Liv: Dress (summer style here)

Yesterday my sweet girl turned three years old and so I’m keeping my tradition of writing Olivia a letter to her on her birthday. One day she might say that it’s too embarrassing for me to publish a letter to her on my blog, but until that happens, I’m going to keep doing it!

Dear Sweet Olivia,

It’s impossible not to say: where has the time gone? Each year goes faster than the last and I find myself torn between begging time to slow down and looking forward to each new wonderful thing you will do. This past year has been one of the most important years in your little life and in ours. You have traveled the world with us (and quite well, I might add) and taken on the role of big sister like it was meant for you. We have watched you become less of a toddler and more of a darling little girl.

You make every day brighter with your smile and the most infectious laugh I’ve ever heard. You are an incredibly sweet and affectionate girl and you make my heart melt when you say, I love you, Mommy. I am always in awe of your intelligence and how easily you can carry a conversation. And sometimes the things you say astound me– No more attitudes, Mommy! 🙂 You are a wonderful big sister and Nathan is lucky to have you. You smother give him so many hugs and kisses and I can’t wait to watch your relationship together grow.

One of the best parts of this last year is seeing your interests and talents blossom. Turn a good song on and suddenly you become a dancing queen. You’ve got quite the moves and sass to match. You are a little artist and one of our favorite things to do together is arts and crafts. I love that you ask to help me cook dinner every night and you’re such a good sous chef. You’re inquisitive, independent, and sometimes you have attitude for days. (I wonder where you get that from…)

More than anything, I still cannot believe I get to be your mommy. I love that I am the one that makes you feel better when you’re sad. I love when you ask me to cuddle with you. I love the way your soft little hand fits in mine. I love the way you pose with your hand on your hip and how you already steal my lipstick! There is no greater love than the love I have for you.

Three years ago you made me a mommy and it’s the best job I’ve ever had. I love you, Livy Bear.

XO,

Mommy

Oh Lord….Sitting her at work at 8:20AM with tears in my eyes after reading this beautiful, moving letter.
Always knew you had a big heart and that is one of the reasons I always wanted you in my life.

This is something I know for sure Livy will appreciate when she grows older

Thank you for sharing with the rest of us!
