Hey friends! Both of my babies are currently napping so I’m going to try to achieve the impossible and crank this blog post out before they wake up! (Hahahaha… yeah right!) My sweet Nathan is 5 months old (plus like 3 weeks) and I wanted to share a Baby Boy’s 5 month update before he turns 6 months! 🙂

Breastfeeding

I am still breastfeeding Nathan, but last week I had plans to go away for the weekend on a girls trip and didn’t think I had enough breastmilk stored up. We decided to introduce a bit of formula to make it easier/less stressful for both Eric and I while I was gone. At first, we were all riding first class on the struggle bus– Nathan refused the formula (even though it was mixed with breastmilk), Eric was stressed, and I was considering not going on the trip, but we kept at it. For about 4-5 days before I left, we kept trying to give him the bottle and he finally took it. Even though I am back from the trip, we still plan on giving Nathan a bottle of formula a couple times a week so that it doesn’t become foreign to him again.

Nathan sleeps in his crib at night but I have him nap in his Rock N Play because he seems to nap longer in it.

Sleep

Sleep has still been a little all over the board for us. There were a few weeks where he started to give us 11-12 hours straight and then teething set in…ugh. And he started waking up again around 4/5am for a feed and then going back down again. We got past that and he’s now sleeping until 6/7am and ya know what? I’ll take it!

Sweet Moments, Milestones, + More

We have a tooth! Baby Boy has one teeny tiny and very sharp little tooth on the bottom and the second bottom one is not far behind. He loves to gnaw on my fingers and thinks it’s hilarious when I yelp out in pain. He also laughs at pretty much anything, is super ticklish, and reaches for my food, my coffee, my water and will be started solids soon!

Baby Boy’s Fav Things

Since Nathan was born, I started carrying him in the Solly Wrap and loved it, but now that he’s older, he wants to turn around and see everything and unfortunately, the Solly Wrap can’t be tied any other way. So I recently bought this sling wrap that allows me to carry him on my hip and we both love it. Also, we never leave the house without a strand of these rings for Nathan. He loves to chew on them, swing them around or just hold them. And these are our fav bibs to catch all that drool!

Thanks for stopping by!

XO,

L
