10 Books for Every Preschooler

10 books for every preschooler

I love books. A lot.

And my hope is that my kids will love books as much as I do. Which is why Eric and I read to Olivia and Nathan every night. We read books from the library, we buy secondhand books, and don’t even get me started on the amount of books I order on Amazon. 😉

It’s been a while since I did a children’s book roundup (you can read my first two HERE + HERE), so I thought I’d share some of our current favorite books for preschoolers. These are a mixture of books that have great lessons, books with cool illustrations, and books that have funny/interesting plots.

  • Room on the Broom is one of my all time favorite books. It’s a perfect book to get since Halloween is coming up soon but it’s also a great book for anytime of year.
  • All About Grandmas is a cute book that would be a great gift for National Grandparents Day this Sunday!
  • The Crow’s Tale is a beautiful story with a great lesson about inner beauty.
  • I Am Earth teaches kids about the Earth and how we can all help take care of it.
  • When Lyla Got Lost will help teach your kids about what to do if they were to ever get lost/separated from you and it’s prompted us to teach Olivia our phone numbers and she has a plan if she ever gets lost.

I added two additional books to the widget that are worth noting– The Once Upon a World books are awesome because they take traditional stories like Cinderella and Snow White and make the characters come from different cultures (Cinderella is Latina and Snow White is Asian). And the book Not Everyone Is Nice is a teaching book about tricky people/strangers but I think it might be a little too advanced for 2-3 year olds.

I’d love to here what book you and your kids are loving? And how do you choose which books to buy?

XO,

L
