Good morning, Friends! Happy Monday to you all! It’s been pretty busy over here with the start of the school year and last week being the first week that students are in class. I’m too busy trying to memorize 160 students’ names and getting used to keeping my bladder in check to even think about doing anything else. Not to mention that I am missing my baby girl SO MUCH. It is just so hard to leave her sweet, smiling face in the morning! 🙁
How do you working moms balance it all? If anyone has the secret to being an amazing mom, working a full time job, making dinner every night, keeping your house clean, having a social life, making time for family, and looking good while doing it, please share!
So it’s been over a month since I’ve gotten back from Whistler and I’m finally sharing the photos and details of this amazing trip.
In August we went to Whistler, which is located in the Canadian province of British Columbia. And it is also where the 2010 Vancouver Olympics were held. My husband’s company has an annual trip for sales associates that reach a certain sales goal. Every year is a different location, with different activities, new hotels, and a completely amazing experience. The company spares no expense and makes it an unbelievable trip every year.
Each night is a different event. The first night was the welcoming party where we took a gondola to the top of Whistler Mountain for a sort of “glamping” (glamorous + camping) style party. The gondola stopped at the halfway point and we were served champagne and o’dourves– pretty amazing! It was chilly once we reached the top, but the views were spectacular. Below you can see the Inuksuk figure that is commonly seen in the region and has become a symbol for the Inuit.
Whistler is definitely a ski destination but has just as much, if not more, to do during the warm summer months as well. You can bike down the mountains, white water raft, golf, hike, zipline, kayak, go to the spa, and so much more! It is an outdoors lover’s paradise and the weather is very mild.
One of the nights was Eric’s awards ceremony and dinner, where all the high achievers are honored. And I am so proud of him for continuing to work hard and reach this pinnacle of success.
Aside from every outdoor activity imaginable, Whistler also has a cute little village at the base of the mountains. You can dine at some great restaurants, stroll the pedestrian walkway and do a little shopping, and enjoy a lively night life.
We had an amazing time and Whistler is a place that everyone should put on their bucket list. The scenery is breathtaking, the people are so friendly, and there is something for everyone. Some recommendations: We stayed at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler and it was a beautiful hotel with wonderful amenities. One night we ate dinner at a place called Araxi and the food was deelish! And if you’re looking for a great brunch spot where you can people watch, then try out La Bocca.
Any of you ever been to Whistler? What did you think? Any places that you recommend in Whistler?
XO,
L
