We are currently in the omg-my-toddler-is-so-fast-and-always-on-the-run-and-mama-can-barely-keep-up-with-her stage. Seriously, who knew those little legs could be so fast? The other day we were at the children’s center in the library and I looked away from her for not even 15 seconds (big mistake, HUGE) and I look up and see the librarian going after a runaway kid. MY runaway kid!
Aside from giant cups of coffee, eating right, and very occasional exercise, I do have one trick that helps me keep up with the toddler tornado: Emergen-C. Emergen-C has 7 B Vitamins that enhance energy naturally* without caffeine. I always feel refreshed when I drink it and I love all the flavor options (there’s 20!).
I’m not always the best at taking vitamins, so putting Emergen-C in something I drink almost every day, like a smoothie, makes it easy to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I love smoothies because they’re delicious (duh!) and they’re also a great way to get all my fruits and veggies in. I thought I’d share my Strawberry Orange Banana Sunshine Smoothie with you.
Strawberry Orange Banana Sunshine Smoothie Ingredients (2 servings)
- 1 banana
- 6-7 hulled strawberries
- 1/4 c. orange juice
- 2 tablespoons of vanilla (or plain) yogurt
- 1 c. almond milk (or any kind of milk)
- 1 packet of Emergen-C Super Orange
Combine all ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth. Garnish with a strawberry and slice of orange and enjoy! It is the best breakfast smoothie, great after a workout, or just for a snack. You can also throw in a handful of greens if you’re feeling bold!
You can pick up your box of Emergen-C at your local Walgreens near the pharmacy and vitamins.
