My Little Strawberry’s First Trick-Or-Treat

It was a just year ago that we moved into our new house and Olivia, only 7 months old at the time, and I both had terrible colds. It was also pouring rain, so needless to say we did not go Trick or Treating for her first Halloween. But yesterday, Eric came home early and we took Olivia out for her first trick-or-treat in her little red wagon. It was a gorgeous afternoon and the three of us had so much fun. Although, Olivia probably doesn’t realize that the fruits of her labor are only going to fuel Mommy and Daddy’s sweet tooth.

She loved wearing her strawberry costume (Or watermelon, depending on how you see it. But really, why is the strawberry pink??) and would not let go of her candy bag. We had been practicing saying ‘Trick or Treat’ and ‘Happy Halloween’ for the last couple weeks and I think she nailed it. The only problem was that she would say it when we were safely 10 feet away from whatever house we just left. But she definitely wasn’t shy when it came to picking out candy. People would put a piece of  candy in her bag and then she would reach into the bowl for more– my kinda girl! 🙂 She especially loved BlowPops, which she thought were balloons! I’m going to try to make sure she thinks that for as long as possible.

It was the perfect day that ended with lots of chocolate, “balloons,” and watching our fav Halloween movie, Hocus Pocus. Hope your Halloween was just as wonderful!

XO,

L

She is the cutest little strawberry watermelon I ever saw! We have a play picnic set with an ambiguous piece of fruit that we can’t determine if it’s strawberry of melon, so I think that’s a common thing. Who knew?
