Friday Favs: Cabin Fever

February 18, 2016

Happy Friday, friends! This was a big week over here with Olivia saying two new words: ‘baby’ (sounds like beh beh) and ‘Elmo’ (sounds like Ehm). Although, neither one sounds like what’s it’s supposed to, she is consistent every time so I’m pretty sure she’s a genius. I’m also in the thick of planning her first birthday party– STOP! Can we pause for a minute here? Um, holy shit, how is my baby, my BABY, turning one already? And I know I must sound like a broken record, but seriously where eff does the time go and why does it go so fast?

Anyway, first birthday… I am going with a shabby chic, mint, pink, and gold theme, because I can. Who knows what kind of party she’s going to want in the next several years? Yo Gabba Gabba? Princess? Some other really annoying kid show that I don’t even know exists? So for now, this party is all about me her. Kidding! It totally is about her, I just want it to be a fun and pretty party on a dime. Stay tuned in a few weeks and I’ll share all the party deets.

Meanwhile, being a stay at home mom to a baby, in the winter, in Chicago, is akin to a friendly hostage situation. You can’t go anywhere or do much. You have cabin fever from being inside all day but you don’t want to leave the house because it’s too cold outside. Every time I drive past the local park, I have visions of playing barefoot in the grass with Olivia and blowing bubbles with the warm sunshine on my face and the breeze blowing and then I get sad. So, what do I do when I get sad? Online shop, of course. So here’s a few Friday Favs with a cabin fever theme. 🙂

Radio Flyer folding Wagon: Wagons have come a long way from the metal ones I remember and this one is amazing because it easily folds and fits into the trunk of your car or backseat.

Outdoor blanket: I love this blanket because it’s waterproof so you don’t have to worry about the damp grass making you look like you wet your pants. 😉 And it’s perfect for the beach because the sand doesn’t stick to it.

Smores Maker: When I think of summer, I think yummy smores and since we don’t have a fire pit (hint, hint, Eric!) I could make do with this cute smores maker.

Sprinkler Beach Ball: Hook this beachball up to a hose and water sprays out of the side. I’m envisioning Livy playing for hours with this.

Sidewalk chalk: What kid doesn’t love sidewalk chalk?

Gazillion Bubble Hurricane machine: Olivia is obsessed with bubbles and this thing looks amazing!

Dreaming of these things is giving me ants in my pants for summer! Am I the only one suffering from cabin fever?! #comeonspring
