Hey Friends! Cheers to the freakin’ weekend! It has been SO nice to be home for more than a week and Olivia and I have been getting back into our routine. She seems to finally be over the jet lag so that makes me one happy (and more rested) mama. (Traveling parents beware: the jet lag coming home is wayyyy worse than the jet lag going to your destination.) We’re now just enjoying the last few weeks of summer before we’re busy again with classes and schedules. So here’s another roundup of the best for a Little Bit of Sunshine No 4.

What’s in my shopping cart this week…

For Mama…

I bought the pink knotted sweatshirt during the NSale and it’s one of my fav purchases. It’s not maternity but can totally accommodate the bump. Also, everyone, especially preggos, needs that pillow. It is perfect for in between your legs when you’re sleeping on your side but hubby also steals it to use behind his neck.

For Mini…

With everything that’s been going on in the country this past week, it is more important than ever to teach our kids about not only our wonderful differences, but the things that unite us. I bought these books the other day and look forward to continuing to teach Olivia about all the great people that make up this world. Also, Olivia, in her attempt to be a complete teenager, refuses to sit in her highchair and only wants to sit in a big girl chair. We bought that booster seat and love it!

What’s on the menu…

I am not a vegetarian by any means, but I do try to include meatless meals in our dinner rotation because I’m conscious about the impact beef can have on the environment. So I’m always on the hunt for delicious recipes and this honey-lime sweet potato and corn taco recipe is a sure winner. This meal is loved by all– hubby, toddler, and mama. The recipe calls for black beans but Eric and I don’t like beans, so I just don’t include them and I think it is such a flavorful dish. You have to try it!

Things that make you go hmmm…

The other day I was chatting with my bestie (check out her shop here) about cleaning products and she told me about this website called Stop the Stomach Flu. The site was started by a biochemist turned stay at home mom who decided to test various household cleaning products to see how effective they are. It is seriously mind-blowing and will make you rethink everything you clean with in your home. And you’ll never guess what she has found to be the most effective cleaning product. Check it out!

Have a sweet weekend!

L
