A Cute + Casual Valentine’s Day Outfit (and a Story)

cute valentine's day look

Hey Frands!

We’re only two weeks away from Valentine’s Day so today I’m sharing a Valentine’s Day story and a cute + casual Valentine’s Day look with you.

This February marks 7 years since I’ve known Eric and I can’t believe how fast time flies. It’s hard to keep track of what we’ve done over the years for Valentine’s Day but one year sticks out in particular. On our first Valentine’s Day, which also coincided with our one year dating anniversary, Eric bought me my first piece of jewelry from him. It was a square diamond pendant necklace and…

…I hated it.

Okay, so you’re either going to fall into two camps with something like this: you either think I’m a horrible person who should have been appreciative of what my sweet boyfriend bought me. OR you can completely relate and think I should have told him I didn’t like it and get something else instead.

Well, it was kinda both. I did appreciate it. It was such a sweet gesture and I accepted it with grace until the next day when I decided I should just tell him I didn’t like it so that he could learn what I do like. I mean, I would hate to give a gift to anyone and them not like it. I would want the recipient to love their gift even if that means exchanging it. Right? RIGHT??

So I told Eric and fortunately, he was understanding and took me back to find something that I loved and I still wear it all the time. Since then, he’s bought me several more pieces over the years and does an amazing job. 🙂 But even better than that, with or without jewelry, Eric always makes Valentine’s Day special and I love him for that.

So let’s talk outfits now. Jeans, pumps, and a cold shoulder sweater is the easiest Valentine’s Day look that anyone can pull off. I bought this top a couple weeks ago and it’s already almost sold out, so I picked out a few other super cute and inexpensive tops that are similar. Also, if you need a pair of nude/pink pumps, the ones I’m wearing (linked below) are really comfortable.

Have a happy week, loves!

XO,

L
