7 Simple Ways to Springify Your Home

You guys, if you have ever wondered if spring fever is a real thing, let me assure you, it is. And I’ve got it bad. This midwest weather is driving me crazy. All I want to do is see a little sunshine and get out of the house without having to wear 23 layers and snow boots. Is that too much to ask? But I see a light at the end of the tunnel, or rather, I see a 70 degree day this Sunday, so I’m hopeful. And I’ve got all the spring feels.

I love when winter melts away and gives way to beautiful spring and I love springifying (yep, that’s a word.) my home. I love giving it a good thorough clean, purging all the stuff I don’t need, and putting a little color in the decor. There are a million ways to clean, prep, and spruce up your home for spring, but these are the ones that I stick to every year.

  1. Bring in some fresh flowers. Nothing says spring like a bouquet of fresh flowers, particularly tulips. I am a habitual flower buyer but if you don’t feel like buying new blooms every week, get a beautiful faux arrangement like this one.spring flowers
  2. Clean your floors. No better way to get your spring cleaning on than to clean your floors. I started using Bona Free and Simple Hardwood Floor Cleaner because it has less irritants but still gets the job done– an important thing when Olivia and I spend 96.4% of our time playing on the floor. Plus, it’s asthma and allergy friendly! 3. Swap out your decor. If you really want to spruce up your home then try switching out your pillows for a pretty floral pattern and trade that fur throw for something lighter. Or add a bright floral table runner.florals runner
  4. Transition your wardrobe/clean out closets. Put away all your chunky sweaters, scarves, and boots and bring out the spring wardrobe. And get rid of all those clothes that you didn’t even wear over winter (I’ll be doing a post on this soon).
  5. Try some new scents. Make your house smell like spring with a new laundry detergent scent or some fresh citrus candles.bona spring
  6. Organize your pantry. Eric and I just did this and it was liberating. We threw out so many expired items and then organized the heck out of that pantry. I seriously get goo-goo eyes every time I go in there.
  7. And finally, bring out that porch and patio furniture and serve yourself a glass of wine!
