Vegas + Thoughts on 30

August 16, 2016

So Eric and I just got back from a long weekend in Las Vegas to celebrate my 30th birthday with one of my closest friends and her husband, and we had SUCH a fun time. Maybe a little too much fun, because I was definitely riding the struggle bus all day long yesterday. Like, I totally took a three hour nap when Olivia napped. 🙂

We enjoyed some wonderful meals, partied, played a little blackjack (won a little and then lost a little), spent time at the pool, and did a little shopping. It was more than this 30 year old could ask for. On the last day of our trip, Eric asked me if I learned any life lessons on my 30th birthday. I gave it some thought and here are my monumental, thought-provoking, and totally serious life lessons:

  • Turning thirty means it now takes me 48 hours to recover from a hangover #truestory
  • Just because you’re 30, doesn’t mean you have to feel 30, or any age for that matter!
  • Walking blocks in heels is something I’m no longer capable of
  • The only way to win in Vegas is to walk away when you’re up (okay, maybe that’s not so much a life lesson as it is common sense)
  • When you’re 21 you wait in lines, when you’re 30, you need to know someone.
  • There really is no place like home

Am I the only one that just can’t hang anymore?? Also, here are a few pics from our Vegas trip. Sorry about the poor quality, but there was never any good lighting. #bloggerproblems And you can find outfit deets after the photos. 🙂

Ah! I love, love, love this! Coming from a 32 year old mama, I can DEFINITELY relate. Your bulleted points had me giggling – all so true. My hubby and I are talking about a Vegas trip for our Anniversary next year, and your post further inspired me to make it happen. Also, you’re so gorgeous!

How fun! Why didn’t I take a trip when I turned 30?! One of us seems to be smarter than the other lol. Glad you had so much fun and have learned so many “life lessons.” Insert wink smile here.

Oh How amazing! I am happy you enjoyed yourself!!

And I couldnt agree more, just because you have turned a certain age doesnt mean you need to feel/act that age.

be a kid as long as you want boo boo 🙂

Miss you tons and again, happy belated Birthday
