You guys, I am so so SO excited for today’s blog post. I have been working on finishing decorating Olivia’s bedroom since she was born and she’s 4 now— needless to say, don’t hire me as your interior designer! I was really excited when The Great Frame Up of Niles reached out to me to collaborate. It was just the kick in the pants I needed to get my act together and complete Olivia’s room.

I had recently purchased some prints for her room with the idea of doing a gallery wall, but they were collecting dust in her closet. When The Great Frame Up reached out the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. I met Sandy, the owner, and Dani, the manager, and I cannot express to you how helpful they both were. I gave Sandy a vague idea of what I wanted to do and she started showing me different options for framing and matting. She had a great eye for picking just the right frame for each photo and had good ideas about doing a double mat in different colors that pulled from the colors of the photos. Also, they have SO MANY frames you can choose from and it would have been completely overwhelming without Sandy’s help. After lining all the prints up and trying different combinations of mats and frames, we decided on which looked best.

I was so pleased with how everything turned out! Each frame complimented each other and went perfectly together on the wall. Initially, I was going to hang all the prints together on one wall, but then realized that the “Who Run the World” print would be just perfect right by all of Olivia’s dress-up dresses. The rest are all hung next to her bookshelf and I added a few other things like the yarn wall hanging and LOVE sign to give the wall a more collected feel.

When we (and by we I mean mostly my husband) started hanging things, he was getting very technical and measuring everything this way and that. I have no patience, so I just started eyeballing it and everything turned out nicely even if there are multiple holes in the wall. I would still like to find one more narrow piece to go in between the alphabet print and the girl print, but otherwise I am obsessed with it!

Having Olivia’s room finished and everything framed makes me want to frame ALL. THE. THINGS. I have seriously thought of at least 4 more things I want to go back and get framed for our home and even for my mom for Mother’s Day. And framing isn’t the only thing The Great Frame Up does either– they make the most beautiful shadow boxes like the one below, they repurpose your old jewelry or brooches, and even photo restoration. There are so many great ideas for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or any gift giving occasion.
