A Little Bit of Sunshine No. 5

a little bit of sunshine no 5

Oh hey, it’s Friday! Yayyyy! I was a little MIA on the blog this week because I was enjoying some much needed Grandma/Mother/Daughter time. My mom and I are super close and even though she only lives 30 minutes away, occasionally she will come and stay with us for a few days, and Olivia and I love spending extra time with her. But I’m back today with some of my favorite things!

First, can we talk about how it’s already September?!?! Where did summer go? I can’t believe how fast summer flew by!  But I’m not gonna lie, I am super excited for my favorite time of year and all the good things that come with it– boots, sweaters, fall leaves, and pumpkin spiced errrrrthang!

What’s in my shopping cart this week…

For Mama…

After almost two years of living in our current home, we are finally finishing our home office/playroom and this rug was the inspiration for the whole room. It’s super inexpensive and I love it so much that I just had to share it with you. Also, at the risk of sounding like a 1950s housewife, I have to profess my undying love for this dust buster that we got a couple months ago. I use it literally every single day and don’t know how I lived before it. And that dress (which I just bought + it comes in several colors) is so cute, not maternity but fits the bump nicely, and will be perfect for fall with a cardigan and booties!

For Mini…

The Book With No Pictures is exactly what it sounds like and it is awesome. Eric and Olivia read it all the time and I can hear them laughing so hard from across our house. Your kids will love it! In a few weeks, Olivia will be starting a one day a week “preschool” and I’m nervous about how she I will do. My sweet friend and blogger, Lindsay over at It’s Simply Lindsay, recommended Llama Llama Misses Mama and it is perfect to teach kids about going to school. And finally, I told you a couple weeks ago that Olivia boycotted her high chair, so we bought her this booster seat and now I also just got her this placemat. It is a little pricey but you only need one and it is amazing because that little lip on the edge catches all the stray food!

What’s on the menu…

With fall and cooler temps around the corner, I am ready for aaaalllll the comfort food. This is my absolute favorite beef stroganoff recipe. It is SO QUICK + EASY. And of course, delicious. It takes about 30 minutes to make and the whole fam loves it. You should definitely put it on the menu in the coming weeks!

A funny story…

We have been trying our luck with potty training lately and although we haven’t quite mastered it yet, Olivia has gone both #1 and #2 on the potty several times. Of course, Eric and I make a big deal out of it and give her MnMs and tell her how proud of her we are. So then the other day, I’m going to the bathroom and Olivia hears and runs in and says, “Mommy did you go pee? Let me see! I’m so proud of you!” 🙂

Have a great holiday weekend, friends!

XO,

L
