Life Made Easy (and tasty) With Home Chef

Making dinner with a toddler goes something like this:

  1. Go grocery shopping with said toddler. Stop approximately 21467298 times in various aisles to feed toddler snacks, take potentially breakable items away, and calm tantrums.
  2. Make dinner with said groceries while said toddler pulls on your leg/shirt/arm to come play.
  3. Serve a somewhat edible dinner.

Okay so maybe it’s not like that every night, but it’s usually some variation of that. 😉 I actually enjoy cooking dinner for my family, but occasionally I find myself stuck in a dinner rut where I’m tired of going grocery shopping to make the same things over and over. And sometimes it’s a hassle grocery shopping and cooking with a stage 5 clingy toddler around. I have wanted to try a home food delivery service for the longest time so when I got the chance to try Home Chef, I was so excited! Olivia was pretty excited to open the box too (what is it with kids and boxes?).

Seriously, what is better and easier than fresh groceries and dinner recipes delivered right to your door and ready for you to make? NOTHING! Okay, well maybe a personal chef would be nice, but not exactly possible, because money! But Home Chef is pretty dang close to having a personal chef because each week a culinary team puts together a new menu of delicious meals. And they’re all around 30 minutes to make.

The first meal we got was Jerk steak with zucchini and coconut rice. I don’t cook red meat often, so I was a little nervous about how it would turn out, but Home Chef’s instructions are so detailed and everything is so easy to make that it’s pretty hard to mess up. And Oh. My. Gosh. It was YUMMY. Even a few hours later, Eric was still talking about how good the meal was.

The second meal was cherry and goat cheese stuffed pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes and honey butter braised carrots. Ummmmm, sounds like something you’d see at a fancy restaurant, right?! But nope, we made it right here at Bistro Plot of Sunshine. 🙂 And it was goooooood.

Try It For Yourself!

Even Olivia was a fan of both dinners and we all know it’s not easy pleasing a toddler’s palette. Eric was already asking what our meals are for next week so I think we have a winner. And you can try Home Chef for yourself using the promo code 30HOMECHEF to get $30 off your first order, just click HERE! #yourewelcome 🙂

Have you ever tried Home Chef’s food delivery service? Didn’t you just love it??

This sounds great! I may have to give them a try once baby is here. The thought of grocery shopping with a toddler and newborn while recovering from a c-section does not sound fun. This would make it easier on me and the hubby. Thanks for sharing!

I remember when my sons were toddlers and I was guiding and following them constantly to a calamity – I called my self the roving paramedic.

This is great idea. We have similar service over in UK and I love it. Makes cooking so much easier.
