I’ve been so busy creating gift guides and all types of holiday posts lately that I haven’t taken much time to catch you all up on the holiday happenings AKA not-so-interesting things going on in our lives. It’s been kind of a slow week over here because Olivia and I both came down with a nasty cold. Although, I did venture out (on the two coldest days of the year) to finish up my holiday shopping. Have you ever taken out all the presents you’ve bought to do an inventory and have an oh shit moment where you realize you don’t have nearly as many gifts as you thought you did? Yeeeaaaahh, that’s basically what happened to me.
Aside from that, we’ve mostly just been enjoying the holiday season, which includes a lot of watching movies (and by that, I mean watching Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer 3476234610 times) by the fireplace and staying in. We got our first big couple of snowfalls the last two weekends and we took Olivia out to play in it. I bought her snow pants and snow boots and she looked like the funniest little penguin waddling around. Too bad we only lasted 15 minutes outside before she was totally over it.
And I am SO excited for Christmas + Hanukkah (obvi) because I can’t wait to see Olivia’s excitement as she opens up all her presents! Last year, she was just 9 months old and couldn’t fully understand the holidays/gifts and she was most excited about the toothbrush my mom put in her stocking. This year she’s already been asking, “Open presents?” every morning when I get her out of her crib so I think it’s safe to say she’s going to love it.
Next on our holiday agenda is making a gingerbread house and maaaayyyyybe going to see Santa (depending on if I’m brave enough watch Olivia scream her head off). What do you think?
