Every year around this time I start to feel floopy. (Any Friends fans out there that know what floopy is?) Ya know, just kinda sick of the humdrum dreary weather, not seeing the sun for days on end, being cooped up in the house. Wishing, hoping praying for some warmer weather just to be outside.
It’s been especially hard as a SAHM because I’m home all day, every day. Sure, we do fun things at home, but sometimes mama just needs to get out. Any stay at home moms out there ever jump at the chance to do the most menial things like pump gas or pick up takeout even when your husband says he’ll do it, just so you can do a real person thing? Yeah, me too. Sometimes it’s difficult to leave the house because 1. the weather is gross (and the only thing worse than being in gross weather is being in gross weather with a toddler) and 2. going anywhere/doing anything fun usually costs money.
Eric suggested the other day that I take Olivia to the mall so we can get out of the house. I don’t think he realized he was suggesting that I go shopping because that’s exactly what would happen. (Me + Stores = lots of shopping.) Soooo I suggested we go to Hawaii. I am such a problem solver, right?!
Eric said ‘no, it’s too expensive.’Â So of course, I totally agreed with him and said he was totally right. CUE THE LAUGHTER! HAHAHAHAHA! I totally did NOT do that. Instead, I texted him hourly at work about Hawaii, researched flights and hotels, and taught Olivia how to say, “Daddy, I want to go to Hawaii please” and sent him videos of her saying it. #truestory
Some might call that annoying. I call it powers of persuasion.
Sooooo, my darling husband booked a trip to Hawaii!!! (I knew I married a winner!) We actually found a pretty good deal on Orbitz. So the three of us are going to be spending a week on the Big Island. I am over the moon excited!
I have never been to Hawaii and I’ve also never been on a flight this long with Olivia so if you have any recommendations on basically anything, I am all ears!
