Etsy Art I Heart: Girls’ Rooms

When I first set out to decorate Olivia’s nursery I had no idea what I was doing. Spoiler alert: I still don’t and she’s almost a year old. Can you even still call it a nursery at this point? Part of the issue is that when I was pregnant, we didn’t find out the sex of our baby because we wanted it to be a surprise. I don’t regret that decision, in fact, I loved not knowing what we were having. BUT I do regret making decisions on what the nursery should look like before we knew whether it was a boy or a girl, because I somehow decided on gender neutral yellow and gray with elephants. Not sure what I was thinking there.

Fortunately, I didn’t get very far with the gray/yellow combo and all the major pieces in her room– crib, changing table, bookshelf, etc– are all things that are neutral and go with anything. So now it’s a matter of painting (which we can’t do until we’ve lived here for a year because our house is new construction) and using accents like art, pillows, and bedding to decorate. I will [eventually] paint her room a light lavender and I want whimsical, bright, and girly accents. And like everyone else, I can’t resist a good gallery wall, so I’ve been in search of some wall art. What better place to look for unique pieces than Etsy? I could get lost on Etsy for hours and the talent of these small biz owners is pretty awesome. And the best part is that many of these pieces are downloadable files that you can just print yourself, which makes it so affordable. So here is just a small sampling of the Easy art I’m swooning over.

I already bought and framed this print from Just a Bird Printables for Livy’s room. Now it’s just a matter of hanging it!

Little Kit Design makes this adorable print. You can’t go wrong with watercolor flowers and I love this quote!
