Hey friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend and are ready to tackle the week. I know I am… not. 😉 I’m still recovering from all the Easter fun we had. The weather was unbelievably warm and it was so much fun to spend time with family.
Yes, Olivia is totally winking in this picture. It’s her little party trick. 😉
On Saturday, my mom did an Easter egg hunt for Olivia and she was so excited running around collecting all her eggs and shaking them and popping them open. My mom also did her annual Easter egg hunt for Eric and me and she hid 61 eggs around the house. And I am happy to announce that for the first time since we have been together, I WON!!!
I should also note that I did not even cheat. There is usually some sort of physical assault on Eric or I try to knock over his basket and steal his eggs and yet somehow I always lose. But not this year! Nope. I won fair and square. So even better than all the candy and money is the bragging rights for a year.
On Easter Sunday, our neighbors (It’s Simply Lindsay) had the cutest little Easter egg hunt for Olivia and their daughter. We spent the rest of the day at my grandparents’ house with my entire extended family. Easter with my family is always filled with shenanigans because at some point, someone brings out the cascarones. If you’ve never heard of cascarones, you’re missing out! They are confetti filled eggs and it is a Mexican tradition to crush the eggs over people’s heads. And as you can imagine, things always get a little out of hand. This is my mom after a round of cascarones. 🙂
I feel like I say this every holiday, but there is something so special and so much more fun about holidays with kids. I just love seeing it all through Olivia’s eyes.
