A Bit of Paris: Easy Peasy Crepes

This post was sponsored by NutriBullet. All opinions are my own.

Almost ten years ago, my best friend, Claire (Mama Du Jour), went to France for the summer because she was studying French. I visited her while she was in Paris and it was one of the most memorable trips of both of our lives. By the time I had gotten there, she was very familiar with the city and was my own personal, French-speaking tour guide.

We went sightseeing, sat in cafes, stayed out way past our bedtime at bars (collecting numbers from cute Frenchmen), crashed a golf cart in Versailles (another story for another time), and ate amazing food. One of my faaaaavorite things to eat were Paris’ famous crepes. There are crepe stands all over the city with delicious combinations on the menu– banana and Nutella, fresh berries, and butter and sugar to name a few. I loved standing there and watching them pour the batter over the huge hot griddle and smooth it out with a little wooden stick. And nothing feels quite as Parisian as walking around eating the delicious paper-wrapped treat.

paris trip

Sometimes, it’s not easy to just pick up and go to Paris because, well, life, toddlers, jobs, etc. But you can bring a little bit of Paris to you in the form of delicious (and SUPER easy) crepes using… a NutriBullet! We all know that the NutriBullet is especially amazing for making healthy and nutritious smoothies (you can find two of my smoothies recipes using the NutriBullet here and here) but I am breaking the mold today with an indulgent sweet treat.

I think I’ve told this story before about how I wanted a NutriBullet so bad and Eric thought that we didn’t need one because we already had a blender. It’s the same thing, he said. NOT! My mom bought me one anyway (because that’s what moms are for) and whatdya know, Eric is the one that has used it literally every single day since to make his protein shakes. And you better believe I give him grief about it aaaalll the time. 😉 We’ve had ours for about 4 years now and it still worked great but thought we would upgrade to the NutriBullet PRO. And it is SOOOO nice. I love that you can make and drink your smoothie out of the same container, it’s so easy to clean, and it doesn’t take up a lot of counter space. I recommend a NutriBullet to everyone and it would be a great gift for anyone on your list.

Okay, so here’s how to make these amazing crepes.

Easy Peasy Crepes Ingredients:

Makes approx. 15 crepes

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk (you can add extra if your batter is too thick)
  • 2 tbs melted butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3 tbs sugar
  • pinch of salt

Combine all your ingredients in your NutriBullet and blend to get your batter. Heat a nonstick pan over medium-low heat and pour about 3 tablespoons of batter into the pan. Quickly tilt the pan in a circular motion to get the batter to cover the entire pan before it sets. Let the crepe cook over medium heat for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown on one side, then gently flip and cook for an additional minute. Set crepes aside on a cooling rack. To eat, just fill them with your favorite toppings– Nutella, fruit, butter and sugar (my fav) and top with a bit of whipped cream! (To store, stack crepes between wax paper and keep in the fridge.)

These crepes would be a great addition to your holiday dessert table this year! Let me know if you try them! And you can find some more tasty NutriBullet recipes here.
