Baby Travel Essentials

July 8, 2015

Hola! As you can see, I’m practicing my Español for our trip to Mexico which is in T minus 3 days! Whooooo hooooo! This will be me on Saturday:

This is our first time traveling with an infant and I am an explosive mixture of nervous, excited, and stressed out. What will I need? Am I overpacking? Is she going to scream on the plane? I just need to talk myself down and go with the flow. It’s not the end of the world if Olivia loses her marbles on the plane. So what if every single person on the 737 hates us? AmIright?! Okay maybe not. I will totally get flustered if Livy is “one of those babies” on the plane, but there’s not a whole lot I can do about it and that’s that.

So, as promised earlier this week, I’ve put together a roundup of a few baby travel essentials that I’ll be bringing for my little peanut.

mexico travel essentials

1. SwimWays Baby Spring Float Sun Canopy: I cannot wait to see Olivia’s first experience in the pool with this cute floatie. And it’s great because it has a canopy to block the sun.

2. Sunglasses: My mom bought these for Liv at Janie and Jack and they are the only glasses that fit her and that she doesn’t mind wearing.

3. i play Baby Unisex One Piece Swim Sunsuit: I am all about the cute little swimsuits, but they don’t do much in the way of sun protection and that’s why I bought this rash guard.

4. Badger Sunscreen: Organic and free of all the “bad stuff.” This will protect my sweet baby’s porcelain skin.

5. Solly Baby Wrap: I cannot say enough good things about this wrap. It is the only thing Olivia doesn’t mind being carried in and it is so easy to tie and comfortable for mommy too!

6. Munchkin Teethers: Livy is just starting the super drooly stage where she likes to put everything in her mouth. These teethers are great because they are textured for her gums and you just pop ’em in the freezer. Double bonus: it will be a cool treat in the Mexico heat.

7. Flap Happy Sun hat: This hat has a wide brim to block all the sun and fits her tiny head perfectly.

8. Graco Frame Stroller: So we have the City Select stroller and love it, but I was worried that it would get damaged while being checked on the airplane. Enter the Graco Frame Stroller. It is lightweight, easily collapsible, and inexpensive (so I won’t be pissed off if it gets damaged).

And there you have it! All the things that I’m hoping will make traveling with a little one a bit easier. I’ll be taking plenty of pics while on vacation, so I’ll let you know how everything works! What would you add to this list? Have any of you tried these products?

Nos vemos pronto!

XO,

L
