Baby Favs: 0 – 3 Months

April 6, 2016

If you’ve been following this blog regularly (kudos to you for not getting annoyed with me yet), you know that I’ve covered everything from pumping while traveling to baby registry must haves to breastfeeding essentials to gifts for a one year old. One might think that I’ve got a lot of time on my hands or maybe that I really just want to write about stuff I hope will be useful to other mamas. So in an effort to leave no stone unturned, today I’m talking baby favs.

Lately, I’ve started going through a bunch of Olivia’s old toys and clothes and trying to organize it all for the next baby (No, I’m not pregnant, just proactive and tired of seeing stuff everywhere!). I decided that I would sort all the clothes and toys into bags and bins by age, starting with age 0 – 3 months, 3 – 6 months, and so on. I also happen to have a few pregnant friends that are about to be first time moms and they have been asking for advice on all things baby, so I thought I would do a little segment of baby favs. These are our top favorite items for babies ages 0 to 3 months.

baby favs 0 to 3 months

OBalls shaker and rattle – These balls and rattle are great for babies because it’s about the only toy they can really “play” with at this age. These balls are so easy to grasp (that’s what she said 😉 ) and are great for their development.

Sofie the Giraffe – I remember being 6257923 months pregnant and making my baby registry and rolling my eyes at the ridiculous price tag of Sofie the Giraffe, but I am now a believer. Olivia loved this thing and gnawed on it constantly when she was teething.

Flower Toy – I think this toy is actually meant for babies 6+ months, but Olivia started playing with it around 3 months and was fascinated by the fact that she could turn the flower and it made a clicking noise.

Girl Swaddles + Boy Swaddles – I’m not sure who loved these more, me or Olivia. They are a must have in every new mama’s diaper bag. I used them for everything– burp cloth, nursing cover, blanket, stroller/car seat cover. Plus, Aden + Anais’ designs are just so pretty!

Burp Cloths – I’m sure that any ol’ burp cloths work just fine, but we got a ton of these Swaddle Design ones as gifts and loved them. They are super thick and absorbent and you need a bunch, because spit up.

Aveeno Baby Wash – This stuff is what heaven, dreams, and clouds smell like. We have tried several different baby washes and this is def one of our favs. And we love the Aveeno lotion too!

Play Mat – This was one of the only ways I ever got 15 minutes of peace in those first few months. The spinning mobile and soft music was mesmerizing for my baby.

Boppy Lounger – I have talked about this one before because it is the pièce de résistance of my entire newborn experience. I loved it, baby loved it, it was amazing. ‘Nuff said.

One last piece of advice I would give all first time mamas– make sure that you don’t register for all gender specific things (i.e. pink carseat, pink swing, pink play mat, etc) unless you a. don’t mind if you have a boy in the future and he uses all the pink stuff (no judging here, real men wear pink) or b. you already plan on buying all new stuff cuz you’re a baller, in which case, hook a girl up.

Nose frida and Ergo carrier! Also love Aden & Anais even though I remember being 6257923 months pregnant making my baby registry and rolling my eyes at what I thought at the time was a ridiculous price tag for something I thought was a baby blanket. lol It’s such a big learning curve! 🙂

OMG yes! Love the Nose Frida and that was something I didn’t get until months later and now I don’t know how I survived without it!

Sophie is THE best! And have you tried the Aveeno sunscreen? It’s so light I’ve even started wearing it myself!
