It was the best of times, it was the worst of times… back when I was pregnant with Olivia and inundated with hormones, I had a meltdown… or two or three or four. I mean, who didn’t, right?! There are two meltdowns I remember so well that Eric and I often look back on and laugh about. I’ll tell you all about them if you promise not to judge. Deal?

Eric and I had just finished eating dinner and he went to clean the kitchen (it was the whole I cook, you clean sitch). There was a little bit of food leftover that we didn’t eat and when I got to the kitchen to see if he needed help I noticed the leftovers were gone. What did you do with the leftovers? He had thrown them out. You what??! He claimed there wasn’t even enough to save. Immediately, tears welled up in my eyes and I walked over to the couch and said the only appropriate phrase: I can’t even. At this point I’m pretty sure hubby was wide-eyed and wondering how fast he could get an exorcist to our home. And I don’t blame him now but at the time, packing my lunch for work the next day was too much to even think about and he had just thrown away my lunch. I’m not sure how that evening ended but the important part to note is that we’re still marrried.

The second meltdown happened when I was on my way to work and realized someone, ahem HUBBY, had driven my car the day before and changed my automatic seat settings. I could no longer figure out the perfect ratio of height/distance/closeness to the steering wheel by simply pressing a button (#firstworldproblems). So I did what any sane and pregnant wife would do: I called my husband and threw out a string of expletives that would make a sailor blush and then promptly hung up on him. Fortunately, by the time I got to work I came to my senses and called back to apologize.

I think we can all agree after hearing those two stories that 1. my husband is a keeper. And 2. I wish I had something like Ocean Spray® Mocktails to take the pregnant edge off. Ocean Spray’s line of mocktails in  Cranberry Sangria, Cranberry Peach Bellini (my fav), and Tropical Citrus Paradise are perfect for pregnancy and after! Just because you don’t drink or can’t drink doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the fun. And more importantly, taking time for yourself to unwind and relax especially while pregnant is paramount.

I love that Ocean Spray® Mocktails are only 90 calories, made with real fruit juice and have no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. I also like to add a little club soda to give it that bubbly effervescence! So next time you feel that meltdown coming on (whether it’s your meltdown or your toddler’s) just find a quiet spot (even if it’s just the pantry) and pour yourself a mocktail to relax. 😉
