A Little Bit of Sunshine No. 9

a bit of sunshine no 9

Hip hip hooray, it’s Friday! And only three more sleeps til Christmas! I can’t believe how fast this time of year always goes and I wish time would just s l o w down! I plan on spending the next few days soaking up time with my family, eating lots (and lots) of good food, and watching Olivia’s eyes light up as she opens her presents. I hope you all enjoy the holiday and I’ll leave you with this weeks bit of sunshine.

What’s in my shopping cart this week…

For Mama…

Okay, so I am obsessed with every single thing here, so bear with me while I gush about each item. Just bought this sweater because I thought it would be great for nursing, so I can’t wait til it gets here! If you know me, you know I am dedicated to getting manicures, but I don’t actually enjoy going to get my nails done, I just like the finished product. And now with two kids, going to get my manicures just got a whole lot harder, so my mom got me this at home no chip manicure kit as an early Christmas present and I LOVE it! I bought these moto leggings and loved them so much that I also got them in green. They look like pants but feel like the softest leggings and have a ton of stretch. I ordered an x-small even though I still have baby weight to lose and they fit great. And finally, I just got the hand-lettering book to do for fun and it’s so relaxing to do (whenever I get 2 minutes to do it!).

For Mini…

We love doing arts and crafts and glitter glue is a staple for all the things we make and this is the ultimate glitter glue pack. We might actually make it last a whole month. 😉 And my sister in law just bought the Giraffes Can’t Dance book and it’s a sweet book about being yourself.

For Baby…

Newborns don’t exactly do much outside of eat, sleep, poop, and cry, but Olivia, and now Nathan, loved this colorful peacock toy. The back of it is black and white for newborns and then the other colorful side is perfect as they get older. And this blooming flower is one of my fav baby products because it makes bathing newborns so easy.

What’s on the menu…

This past week, my mom and I had our annual Christmas cookie baking day and this year we tried out three new recipes. These Italian ricotta cookies were To. Die. For. Soooo delicious and the Christmas sprinkles make them festive, but you can change up the sprinkles for a year round cookie. And then these brown butter cinnamon crinkle cookies are my new fav! They kind of remind me of snickerdoodles but better! And finally, these hot Chocolate Cookies are the perfect chocolatey taste (I skipped the chocolate glaze tho) and Eric was a big fan of these.

And a shout out…

This last month with two kids has been a challenge, and I couldn’t do it without my husband. I recently read this article, Marry the Man that Will Be the Best Father to Your Children and totally teared up reading it (hello, postpartum emotions!). Not only is Eric the best father and an equal partner in taking care of the kids, but he also lifts me up when I need it most. I’ve had more than a few meltdowns and he has supported me, encouraged me, and assured me that I was doing great when I couldn’t see it for myself. He recently said to me, “Honey, your mom cape can do all sorts of things I can’t. You had my children, you feed my children, and you do so much for all of us.” So without getting too sappy on you, I just wanted to say how thankful I am for him.

Have a Merry Christmas + Happy Holidays!

XO,
L
